Book Review – Crochet Cute Critters by Sarah Zimmerman

Posted: December 16, 2019 by admin

Have you tried crochet amigurumi? It was my first love when I learned to crochet. I was so excited to make cute and cuddly creations for my kids. Sarah Zimmerman of Repeat Crafter Me was one of the first crochet bloggers that I learned to create cute projects from and I was so excited when I was sent her first crochet book Crochet Cute Critters to check out.

Here’s my honest review. Crochet Cute Critters is a well made book of critters listed from A – Z. It’s light and very portable so you could easily have a project on the go. It’s also designed in a very clean and easy to read way. You can easily locate the patterns and follow along. So far I have made the Jellyfish and the Whale. I gifted the Jellyfish to a friend’s son and he loved it.
I like to play around with using different yarn for amigurumi. I used Bernat Velvet yarn when I made the Jellyfish. I used Bernat Maker Home Dec and Lily Sugar N Cream for the whale pictured here. I used the size crochet hook called for in the pattern and even though I used bulky yarn the results were perfect. I could easily see myself making every critter in this book. This book would also make an excellent gift.
