Welcome to the Kelly Beanie, a Tunisian crochet pattern. This is a collaboration with Clover USA and as always I’m so excited to be back on their blog as a guest designer. This pattern is a sister pattern to the Kelly Ear Warmer. The Kelly Beanie delivers on texture and comfort and the feel is almost “knit-like”. An added bonus is this pattern is awesome for stash-busting. You can dig into your reserves and get creative on what colors you use.
This beanie is a hybrid beanie of crochet and Tunisian crochet. The pattern is worked flat, the brim is done in standard crochet, body in Tunisian crochet, the beanie is whip stitched together, and standard crochet is used on the top to finish. I love my Clover Takumi Bamboo Tunisian Interchangeable Crochet Hooks and they’re great for all my Tunisian Projects. Simple knowledge of Tunisian crochet is needed. Some very helpful tips with Tunisian crochet is to train yourself to crochet loosely, test your gauge, and you can change your hook size to meet gauge if needed.
I hope you love this fun and quick pattern! Please share with me on social media. You can follow me on Instagram HERE and on Facebook HERE! Tag me @pinkplumeriamaui and use #pinkplumeriamaui.
