Welcome to my free pattern for a Crocheted C2C Cactus Baby Blanket as part of my C2C Crocheted Cactus Series. I absolutely love this blanket! I designed this blanket a while back and it was my main inspiration for my Crocheted C2C Cactus Series.
I’ve included 2 graphs, first one has a cactus without flowers and the second has cactus with flowers in the graph. A third options is to add a flower or two in a color of your choice using my Crocheted Layered Flower Pattern, as seen in the pictures on this blog post. This is a versatile pattern than can be made for a baby girl, boy or nuetral gender for parent’s waiting to be surprised. The completed blanket is 32 inches by 32 inches.
Are you new to C2C (corner two corner crochet)? C2C crocheted is working with a cluster of stitches essentially making a square or rectangle working from corner to corner. Using a graph makes it easy to track each row and count your clusters. ChiWei at www.1dogwolf.com has an excellent blog post with helpful information to answer questions about C2C crochet.

CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

Create blanket from graph of your choice. Here are some tips:
- Grab a clip board and pen for your graph, I use a metallic sharpie to dot my squares at the beginning of each row.
- Prep your yarn by separating skein in balls. I use a scale to weigh and break my yarn into 3 or 4 even balls.
- Keep your ends on the back side with changing colors.
- Count your clusters every row when you get to graph to help eliminate mistakes.
- Change colors on on the last pull through of last DC in cluster. This will create invisible color changes.
Row 1: At the completion of the last cluster of graph square, to start border, you would of just SL ST, CH 1, SC, in gap between cluster below, CH 2, you will end up in your first corner. SC, CH 2, SC in corner. Continue pattern of CH 2, SC in gap between clusters with SC, CH 2, SC, in corners. SL ST to first CH 1. Fasten off with a tail to sew in.
Row 2: Attached Rosy Cheeks or color of choice in CH 2 space, CH 2, 2DC, in next CH 2 space. Continue around with 3 DC. In corner CH 2 space from previous row, 3 DC, CH 2, 3 DC. SL ST to top of first CH 2. Fasten off with a tail to sew in.
