Welcome to the Marshmallow Beanie! This super soft and fluffy knitted beanie was inspired that yarn that it was made with. I was so excited over the holidays in December to be able to grab some of The Wool from We Are Knitters. I had drooled over the pictures I had seen on Instagram for months. Their most popular color way Marshmallow sells out fast so I signed up for the “Notify Me When Available”. When I received the email I jumped on it. The Wool is a Peruvian Super Bulky Wool.
When I first got it I will be honest I thought it would be a lot softer. However I just started working with wool the month prior. Yes that it right, I had just started working with wool 7 short months ago. I will also note I have only been knitting for 7 months too. So let me give you a little 411 on wool. There’s many different forms that yarn comes in. Super wash wool will be softer and merino will be even softer. Peruvian wool is not super washed and more in its original state however once I started working with it I really enjoyed the texture. It’s soft, fluffy and extremely versatile. I could think of a bunch of things I could make with this yarn. The Super Bulky is a bonus because projects work up super quick.
This past winter was the coldest Maui has had on recorded history and I got to wear this beanie a lot. I got so many compliments everywhere I wore it too. The beautiful colors give it a look like it just came from a high end store. The pattern I created is super easy for any level of knitter and you can whip up a beanie in less then two hours. I’ve designed two sizes; Adult and Child. Adding a big fur pom was the cherry on top of the sundae!
I hope you have as much fun as I did making and wearing this beanie. To stay updated with pattern releases, received coupons and free patterns sign up for my Newsletter that I email out every Friday. Also follow me on Instagram @pinkplumeriamaui and use #pinkplumeriamaui to share your creations!
